Draft Action Agenda will be unveiled June 7 in Summit on the Future at Elkhart’s Lerner Theatre

The Vibrant Communities Draft Action Agenda for Elkhart County will be unveiled in the Summit on the Future on Tuesday, June 7, 2016, at the Lerner Theatre in downtown Elkhart.

The Draft Action Agenda details projects, places and policies aimed at strengthening the things that Elkhart County residents love, from parks and green spaces to cultural and arts venues to neighborhoods and community events. This outcome is the product of more than 3,500 comments contributed by more than 700 residents over a series of Community Conversations, small-group meetings and online responses since February.

Elkhart County residents will be asked to offer additional feedback and ask questions about the details of the Draft Action Agenda. The feedback will be collected at the Summit and in the ensuing weeks. It will be used by the Vibrant Communities Steering Committee to complete the Final Action Agenda and to plan the steps to bring those proposals into reality.

The keynote speaker for the Summit will be Jamie Bennett, executive director of ArtPlace. Bennett is
