Ready to celebrate? Come to Awards Night for first three little BIG Idea Grant recipients

Elkhart County is full of fun, quirky ideas springing forth from the minds of people who live here and absolutely love their hometown.

How do we know this? From the fantastic ideas we’ve already received for little BIG Idea grants. At 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, August 22, we will announce the first three winners at the NorthWood Middle School auditorium/cafeteria.

Our goal? To give these individuals an opportunity to share their ideas and to celebrate their little BIG idea, and give you an idea of how you can get involved! These amazing individuals represent all corners of Elkhart County and each bring a creative idea which will be fun for the entire community.

As each of these grants become reality, you’ll be able to follow along on the little BIG Idea grant’s Facebook page and via Vibrant Communities, which inspired this effort to empower Elkhart County residents to nurture their ideas and to show how much they love living here.

The little BIG Idea grant and Vibrant Communities embrace the notion that even little ideas can have a big impact on how we feel about our neighborhoods, downtowns and community.

Since launching on July 12, more than 30 applications have been submitted for events, projects and programs which show love of community, bridging people to people and people to community.

We want your ideas! Submit your ideas to Applications will be reviewed monthly with grants of up to $1,000 awarded. Potential applicants may also submit questions through the website without submitting an application.
