Flower power taking root in downtown Nappanee this summer

Nope, that’s not a trick of the eye. That really is a giant picture frame filled with flowers at the corner of Main and Market streets.

The city of Nappanee is taking being colorful to the next level this year.

The Flower Gardens Art in Bloom exhibition was installed starting on Thursday, May 17. The 12 pieces are all in downtown Nappanee, with most of them along Market Street. One is at the Nappanee Public Library just up the street.

The art pieces were created by various artists, with the main stipulation that it be flower-themed. The artists in this project are: Jeff Stillson, Cybil Stillson, Jenny Shaw, Hannah Kirkwood, Brian Van Voorst, Brandon Hochstetler, Michael Hapner, and Kate Pedler & Damien Weaver.
