By May 22, 2020Elkhart

The COVID-19 pandemic has really brought out the best in us in Elkhart County, with countless acts of generosity and love of community.

The city of Elkhart is looking to recognize some of the people who have demonstrated how much they love where they live. See the press release from the city of Elkhart on May 18, 2020, and be sure to nominate someone from Elkhart who really lives out their pride in this community through their actions:

Nominate an Outstanding COVID-19 Volunteer for the HUMANITY IN ACTION AWARD

Elkhart has seen some extraordinary philanthropic efforts over the past few months. Volunteers have stepped up to fill the needs of their neighbors and we’d like to give them they recognition they deserve.

An outstanding volunteer is one who gives of themselves in service to a cause. This person freely gives of their time to help an organization, a community or an individual. This person acts on the behalf of others and desires to do good without asking anything in return.

Do you know someone like that?  Do you know someone who has gone over and beyond during COVID-19?  Has this person fed the hungry, shopped for the isolated, or lent a helping hand where needed?

Through the MyElkhart311 app, submit your nominee for the “Humanity In Action Award.” All information will be kept private until the award is accepted by the nominee(s). The winner will receive a certificate and a swag bag full of items from locally owned businesses.
