Marcia Eppers feels blessed to have the talent and resolve to be a driving force behind Bashor Children’s Home’s efforts to increase community awareness and support. “I am thankful every day,” she says. Bashor’s President, Don Phillips says Marcia has “made it her Mission to connect Bashor to the larger community and to engage the community in Bashor’s efforts to serve children and families.”
“Bashor is a passion,” Marcia says. Don Phillips adds, “Her genuine concern and appreciation for others is exceptional.”
Marcia’s energy is not limited to Bashor. She is also active in Saint Vincent’s church in Elkhart and is a member of Beta Chi, a philanthropic sorority.
“Elkhart is such a great place to raise a family,” Marcia says. She and her husband Matt raised their three sons here. She describes herself as a “proud soccer mom” having watched her boys playing on area fields and for Central High School. She also followed one son as he played baseball for four years while attending Ball State.
One member of the Eppers family we cannot fail to mention: “Izzy, our family dog is one of the loves of my life,” says Marcia. She is often seen when Izzy takes her for their daily walk.
Finally, Marcia told us, “I’m a pretty good… no, I’m a good baker, especially anything with chocolate.”
We are guessing you are better than good at baking, Marcia. We are just waiting to be invited to try a chocolate something before confirming it.
