Wellfield to Host Regional Arts & Culture Planning Event

The South Bend Elkhart Regional Partnership is presenting a series of community engagement sessions, including a July 24 event at Elkhart’s Wellfield Botanic Gardens, at which area residents can share ideas and offer input to help shape the vision and fine-tune a community strategy for the South Bend Elkhart Regional Arts and Culture Plan.

After hearing from expert consultants regarding the process and development of the Regional Arts and Culture Plan, participants can offer feedback and share their thoughts with panelists about their favorite arts and culture experiences. Many of the community engagement sessions include an arts element, and residents are invited to attend the sessions and share ideas and feedback.

Driving progress through partnership

The South Bend Elkhart Regional Partnership — utilizing the region’s significant manufacturing base — works to drive initiatives and progress in workforce development, talent retention, entrepreneurship, and industry growth. The group’s Strategic Arts and Culture planning process, made possible by support from the Lilly Endowment, Inc. through the Indiana Economic Development Corp., intends to guide a vision for arts and culture planning in our region that nurtures and uplifts creativity, connection, and community.

Expert consultants and experienced planners have been involved in bringing the Arts and Culture Plan into clearer view, but input and feedback from community members and residents — people just like YOU — is equally important in ensuring a community-driven plan to support arts and culture planning.

If YOU would like to have a say, put your voice to work and participate in one of the upcoming community engagement sessions. Register, attend, speak up, and share your thoughts to help shape the future vision of Arts and Culture planning in our area!
