And this year, one of the sparks of excitement is the continued rise of the semi-pro Goshen City Football Club, which recently began its 2026 season. The club—which hosts its home games at the Goshen College Soccer Complex, and is coached by Goshen native Tyler Born—has quickly become one of the region’s most exciting Elkhart County sports experiences, bringing fans together for high-energy matches, local pride, and unforgettable summer nights. 1. Elkhart County 4-H Fair – Goshen
July 24 – Aug. 1
No summer tradition is bigger than the Elkhart County 4-H Fair. One of the largest county fairs in the nation, the event attracts more than 200,000 visitors annually and features carnival rides, livestock competitions, nationally known concerts, tractor pulls, youth showcases, grandstand events, and some of the best fair food in Indiana. Families from across the Midwest make this week-long celebration a yearly tradition.
2. Goshen First Fridays – Downtown Goshen

3. Elkhart Jazz Festival – Downtown Elkhart

One of the Midwest’s premier jazz festivals returns with four days of world-class performances spread throughout downtown Elkhart venues. From smooth jazz and blues to experimental and contemporary acts, the festival combines nationally recognized musicians with local talent while bringing thousands of visitors into the city’s downtown district.
4. Celebration Under the Stars – Downtown Elkhart

One of downtown Elkhart’s biggest entertainment events of the year returns with live performances from Boyz II Men and The Jacksons, along with food vendors, family activities, beer gardens, and a massive outdoor concert atmosphere that draws visitors from across the region.
5. Nappanee Apple Festival – Nappanee
Sept. 17–20
The Nappanee Apple Festival remains one of Northern Indiana’s most beloved community festivals. 7. Bristol Homecoming Festival – Bristol
July 9–11
The Bristol Homecoming Festival delivers classic Americana summer fun with fireworks, carnival rides, a parade, food vendors, community games, and live entertainment. The event remains one of the county’s favorite Independence Day weekend traditions.
8. Essenhaus Cruise-In – Middlebury
