Happy Fourth of July. Today we salute our Vibrant Veteran, Brad Ulick!!!
Bradley Ulick describes himself as a “professional volunteer.” The retired ex-Marine is active in his church, is a Concord band parent and other community related activities. Brad is also the Commandant of the Elkhart Area Marine Corp League #1397.
Brad served in the Marines in the early 1980’s. He is a survivor of the 1983 suicide bombing in Beirut, Lebanon. The incident was the start of an aggressive change in terrorist tactics. It was also the deadliest attack on a U.S. Embassy to date.
Brad served his country with honor. He and his fellow members of the Marine Corp League continue to serve. They do fundraising and have a scholarship fund. They handle duties at the services of deceased members of the Corps. They build ramps at the homes of veterans who need them. The League is also the driving force behind the annual Marine Corps Toys for Tots drive.
Working in his shop is one of Brad’s diversions. He enjoys woodworking and lately he has been dabbling with stained glass. Most recently, Brad created the centerpiece display for the Marine Corp League’s parade float for the 2019 Elkhart Memorial Day Parade.
Brad’s son Caleb looks up to his father. Caleb says his dad is “hardworking and patriotic.” Caleb admires Brad for his charitable work and community engagement.
We appreciate Caleb for telling us about Brad. We salute Brad for serving his country and his community.
We wish you all a wonderful Fourth of July.
