Tuesday’s Vibrant Person is Lizzie Sheets!!!
“I want to impact people’s lives.” That’s what Lizzie Sheets told us when we asked about her role as Program Facilitator for Startup Moxie. Launching in Elkhart County later this summer, Startup Moxie provides high school students the opportunity to experience entrepreneurship first hand.
Lizzie is already deeply committed to the program and willing to give it everything she has to make it successful. “Once I am passionate about something,” she says, “I am all in.” She adds: “I am super passionate about Startup Moxie.”
Going all out is not new to Lizzie. She came to the area to attend IUSB and was a member of the school’s women’s basketball team. She had game and knew how to hustle. She could also help others up their game. She served as an Assistant Coach after graduation.
In her new position, Lizzie will be coaching future leaders and business people to develop an entrepreneurial mindset. She will have the distinctive opportunity to influence what happens in Elkhart County for years to come.
Lizzie doesn’t play hoops anymore. Although, there may be an occasional shoot around in the driveway. Instead she and her husband, Jay are busy trying to keep up with Macklin, their three-year-old son. “He is the center of our world,” she says. He seems to be following his mother’s footsteps. He has already had a big impact on a few people’s lives.
